About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell a newly approved oncology product to oncology practices in an assigned geographic territory
  • Engage oncologists, oncology nurses, office staff and pharmacists in face-to-face discussions
  • Develop and maintain relationships and regular communication with physicians and key thought leaders in the US
  • Educate healthcare providers about the client’s oncology product, approved indications and patient support services
  • Maintain high knowledge of the product, disease state, customers and territory
  • Use the customer relationship management system to keep call records and account planning
  • Deliver high expertise and customer service to customers
  • Collaborate effectively and mobilize appropriate resources
  • Complete training to understand the disease state and product positioning
  • Travel to medical offices and hospitals; approximately 80% travel, with some overnight travel
  • Work 40 hours per week, potentially including weekend medical meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS from an accredited college or university required; focus in business, life science, or clinical degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical sales experience
  • At least 1 year of oncology experience with an understanding of the integrated oncology network
  • Consistent track record of quantifiable/documented sales accomplishments preferred
  • Ability to plan, analyze and act upon sales data within an assigned geography
  • Solid and persuasive business communication with physicians and providers
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good business judgment and discretion
  • Ability to analyze and address territory opportunities
  • Familiarity with a Sales Force Automation (SFA) application preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% as needed to cover territory, up to a 2-hour radius from headquarters city; some overnight travel may be required
  • Ability to complete a clinical product sell
  • Proven track record in territory
  • Strong knowledge of VEEVA systems
