About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the General Counsel and Legal & Compliance team in overseeing legal and compliance aspects of the business
- Help safeguard the company’s reputation by ensuring adherence to laws, rules, and policies
- Provide practical legal advice across the organization
- Assist the US-based General Counsel with planning and development of the legal function
- Work with the legal team in Ireland using a follow-the-sun working methodology
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts with customers, partners, and service providers
- Support more junior members of the legal team
- Advise employees on commercial contracts, privacy and data protection, policies and procedures, corporate governance, intellectual property, and employment law
- Apply risk management techniques and provide proactive advice on commercial transactions
- Communicate, negotiate, and resolve issues with colleagues and external parties
- Handle complex matters involving multiple stakeholders
- Monitor updates and changes in applicable rules and legislation
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Sales, Finance, and other organizational stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- US qualified lawyer
- 4 to 7 years of post-qualification experience in related areas of law
- Deep knowledge of commercial contracts, particularly technology/SaaS
- Solid understanding of commercial law and the commercial consequences of legal issues
- Highest standards of professional ethics and integrity
- Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information
- Outstanding organization and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to collaborate toward team and corporate goals
- Creative and rapid problem-solving approach
- Willingness and ability to learn in an evolving environment
