About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the quality strategy for Evolent Platform web user experience
  • Design and maintain end-to-end, component, accessibility, contract, and test automation for React and Next.js applications
  • Own quality signals determining release readiness
  • Develop and manage comprehensive functional, regression, accessibility, performance, and AI-output quality test strategies
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and product planning
  • Define and uphold test automation patterns and standards
  • Mentor quality engineers and promote testing best practices
  • Lead Playwright end-to-end and Vitest component test suites
  • Build contract tests for AG-UI event streams and API tests for backend-for-frontend, .NET, and Python FastAPI services
  • Test streaming behavior and resilience, including retries and timeouts
  • Plan and execute basic load and performance tests
  • Integrate automated suites into GitHub Actions
  • Lead WCAG and Section 508 accessibility testing using automated and manual methods
  • Triage accessibility defects and support conformance reviews
  • Analyze, document, prioritize, and escalate defects
  • Generate quality metrics and report quality state and release readiness
  • Present work in Agile ceremonies and lead technical knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Use and validate approved AI-assisted engineering tools for test design, scripts, test data, documentation, troubleshooting, and defect analysis
  • Contribute reusable AI-assisted testing assets and workflows
  • Follow policies for AI usage, intellectual property, security, privacy, PHI handling, and Responsible AI
  • Participate in peer reviews and validation of AI-assisted solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including 3+ years of hands-on test automation for modern web applications
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript or JavaScript for end-to-end automation
  • Experience with component testing using Vitest or Jest and React Testing Library
  • Experience testing React-based web applications, including asynchronous and streaming behavior
  • Hands-on accessibility testing experience with axe-core and manual screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) against WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and Section 508
  • Experience with API testing and contract testing, including schema-based validation of APIs or event streams
  • Experience with load or performance testing tools such as k6 or JMeter
  • Experience creating and maintaining automation jobs in CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions with YAML
  • Version control experience with Git
  • Knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA or ALM
  • In-depth knowledge of functional, regression, accessibility, and performance testing methodologies
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • High-speed internet over 10 Mbps at home
  • Ability to complete identity verification, background check, in-person I-9 verification, and potentially drug screening prior to employment
  • Ability to comply with the prohibition on AI tools during interviews
