About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic legal guidance across the public sector landscape, including FED/SLED contract sales questions and regulatory requirements
  • Draft, review, and negotiate sales contracts with federal, state, and local government customers and prime contractors
  • Identify and drive compliance with applicable FAR/DFARS and agency-specific requirements
  • Provide contract lifecycle counsel covering RFP/bid response, contract administration, and government contracting compliance
  • Partner with sales, product, engineering, finance, supply chain, and compliance teams to structure and close deals
  • Provide training and develop resources for legal and cross-functional teams
  • Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, hardware, lease, subscription, and other commercial agreements
  • Advise on federal, state, and local government-specific laws and regulations
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve contractual and compliance risks with legal leadership
  • Evolve contracting templates, playbooks, and tools as the business scales
  • Counsel product and supply chain teams on relevant compliance and contract requirements
  • Communicate legal updates and public sector initiatives to legal colleagues
  • Handle other general commercial and legal matters as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • 6+ years of legal experience, in-house or at a law firm, with a mix of general commercial and FED/SLED contracting work
  • Experience negotiating SaaS, hardware, subscription, and other technology commercial agreements
  • Working knowledge of government contracting fundamentals, including FAR/DFARS, GSA Schedules, and Trade Agreements Act/Buy American Act compliance
  • Experience working with K-12 and higher education sector a plus
  • Familiarity with CLM tools such as Ironclad and Salesforce a plus
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Service-oriented and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • Must complete Form I-9; Evolv participates in E-Verify for all employees
