About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide exceptional customer service in a phone-based environment
Enter high volumes of data and process prescription information accurately
Receive prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers using drug knowledge
Perform claim adjudication and auditing, including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks
Make outbound calls to patients
Work through case queues to resolve patient care issues
Serve as liaison between clinical pharmacists and other medical professionals
Partner with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients
Maintain confidential patient records
Retrieve and verify prescription information through doctor calls
Place welcome calls to newly onboarded patients
Create, maintain, and update medication profiles
Provide backup support during high patient call volumes
Answer patient questions by phone
Support ExactCare’s nationwide patient base in a high-volume environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma/GED
Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA) and maintain a current certificate
Must maintain a pharmacy technician registration with State Board of Pharmacy
Must be 18+ years of age
Prior experience in a pharmacy setting
Ability to work in a phone-based environment
Ability to utilize computer equipment, technology, and multiple software programs for medication authorizations, clarifications, and transfers
Exceptional customer service skills serving doctors’ offices, pharmacists, and patients over the phone
Thorough drug knowledge
Pharmacy billing knowledge
Knowledge of processes for prescriptions, clarifications, and transfers
Strong written and verbal communication
Strong prioritization and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to think critically and document pertinent details compliantly with state and federal regulations
Ability to perform work requiring sitting at a desk 90% of the time
