About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide exceptional customer service in a phone-based environment
- Enter high volumes of data and process prescription information accurately
- Receive prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers
- Perform claim adjudication and auditing, including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks
- Work current case queues to resolve patient care issues
- Liaise between clinical pharmacists and other medical professionals
- Partner with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients
- Maintain confidential patient records
- Retrieve and verify prescription information through doctor calls
- Place welcome calls to newly onboarded patients
- Create, maintain, and update medication profiles through outbound calls
- Provide backup support during periods of high patient call volume
- Answer patient questions by phone
- Support ExactCare’s nationwide patient base in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/GED
- Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA) and maintain a current certificate
- Must maintain a pharmacy technician registration with State Board of Pharmacy
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Prior experience in a pharmacy setting
- Ability to perform in an office-based (or remote) setting that requires sitting at a desk 90% of the time
- Comfortable working in a phone-based environment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to utilize computer equipment, technology, and multiple software programs
- Exceptional customer service skills serving doctor’s offices, pharmacists, and patients over the phone
- Thorough drug knowledge
- Pharmacy billing knowledge
- Knowledge of prescription intake, clarifications, and transfers
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to think critically and document pertinent details compliantly with state and federal regulations
- Availability to work an average of 40 hours per week and outside normal business hours on an ad-hoc basis
