About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the EXFO Sales Team by promoting testing solutions into the network service provider market
  • Support trade shows, conferences, and customer demonstrations with technical product applications
  • Deliver customized technical presentations and live software demonstrations to prospective clients, including executives and technical stakeholders
  • Own and manage product trials, sandboxes, and Proof of Concept evaluations
  • Troubleshoot system constraints and resolve complex integration questions during pre-sales cycles
  • Respond to RFPs in coordination with the Sales Manager
  • Maintain and prepare demo materials and provide product and application support
  • Develop solution proposals mapping customer network topologies, testing bottlenecks, and data ingestion requirements
  • Maintain supportive relationships with focus accounts
  • Create customized test plans and job aids
  • Assist customers in developing test automation solutions using custom scripts and/or applications
  • Prepare and present technology seminars on EXFO testing solutions
  • Serve as the technical interface between Product Management and customers
  • Advise Product Management on product features and roadmaps
  • Provide competitive intelligence on feature sets, roadmaps, and pricing
  • Author or co-author application notes and white papers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Versed in fiber optic and/or protocol technology
  • Knowledge of physical and optical layer technology and applications, including OTDR, loss test, dispersion, DWDM, PON, and FTTx
  • Knowledge of protocol technologies and applications, including SDH, next generation SDH, ATM, Frame Relay, Gigabit Ethernet, Voice over IP, and xDSL
  • Solid understanding of modern software web technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience with API integrations and enterprise software ecosystems
  • Proven experience with network automation protocols and frameworks, including REST APIs
  • Strong grasp of telecom data formats, protocol analysis, and processing high-velocity network telemetry data
  • Ability to travel; approximately 50% travel required
  • Extremely customer-oriented

  • Highly responsible and courteous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree in Telecom/Optical Technology or related technical field
  • 7 years of experience as a Sales Engineer or in Software Sales
  • English written and spoken
  • Spanish or French knowledge is an asset
