About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead all functions responsible for the evolution, maintenance, and operations of EXFO’s cloud infrastructure
- Lead and develop the team
- Define, articulate, and communicate the group’s vision and mission to teams and senior leadership
- Implement and accelerate the adoption of AI-powered development tools
- Evolve, promote, and deploy industry best practices
- Drive team engagement and recruit employees
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure skills development
- Ensure that group managers and employees have the resources they need
- Ensure project allocation across functions
- Participate in preliminary planning for medium- and long-term features and products
- Own technology decisions influencing the software architectures of the cloud infrastructure
- Develop and maintain the sector’s strategic vision in alignment with the business unit’s strategic objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent knowledge of CI/CD processes for cloud-based microservices, taking into account incremental deliveries of endpoints and instruments
- Excellent knowledge of software development processes and methodologies
- Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is an asset
- Good understanding of the costs associated with cloud infrastructure
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure operations processes and methodologies
- Good knowledge of the non-functional aspects of cloud infrastructure, including scalability, security, robustness, service-level agreements, and performance
- Good knowledge of technology stacks for cloud-based microservices and endpoints, particularly Node.js, Go, Python, RabbitMQ, and REST
- Good knowledge of public API management processes and API evolution
- Good knowledge of development tools, vaults, version control tools, and continuous integration
- Strong knowledge of using AI to accelerate software development
- Experience working with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams
- Ability to engage and develop team members
- Ability to foster a climate of trust
- Action- and results-oriented
- Demonstrated leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems and manage challenging situations
- Excellent priority management and work/time organization skills
- Minimum 15 years of experience in software development and 10 years of management experience in a high-tech environment
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
- Bachelor’s degree in software, electrical, or computer engineering
- Any combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
