About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, prototype, and evaluate machine learning models under the guidance of experienced machine learning scientists
- Contribute to well-scoped research and product-focused experiments
- Implement clean, maintainable model training and inference code
- Apply unit testing, code reviews, and reproducible experimentation workflows
- Participate in low-level system design, API design, and data modeling for ML-powered features
- Translate product and data requirements into robust, production-aware ML solutions
- Explore, analyze, and prepare data using statistical and machine learning techniques
- Improve model quality, robustness, and fairness through feature engineering and basic error analysis
- Collaborate with peers, mentors, data scientists, engineers, and product partners
- Define success metrics and iterate on ML solutions with measurable impact
- Work with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and apply AI/ML concepts to real-world products
- Showcase internship work to team members and senior leaders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be available for the full program dates: May 24–July 30 or June 21–August 27, 2027
- Must be graduating with a Master’s degree in a technical or analytical-related subject between December 2027 and July 2028
- Technical subjects may include Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Operations Research, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or another Engineering degree
- Must be willing to relocate to the city of the job location if outside commuting distance
- Must have Python and/or Scala and SQL knowledge
- Must have no more than 2 years’ professional experience
- Must be graduating from a university in the same country as the internship location
- Helpful: theoretical understanding of Regression, Naïve Bayes, Deep Learning, Gradient Boosting, Random Forests, SVMs, and Neural Networks
- Helpful: experience with Python, R, SQL/Hive, and Java
- Helpful: understanding of distributed file systems, scalable datastores, distributed computing, Spark, Hadoop, MapReduce, and in-memory data processing
- Helpful: familiarity with AWS in a distributed computing context
- Helpful: effective communication with internal, external, technical, and non-technical partners
- Helpful: Java, R, C++, Hive, Hadoop, and Microsoft SQL Server knowledge
