Air Export Agent
Expeditors. Assist Manager and Supervisor with all aspects of the Air Export Department .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Manager and Supervisor with all aspects of the Air Export Department
- Ensure proper and timely movement of freight and provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
- Prepare documents for international transportation
- Coordinate and negotiate rates with contracted vendors to procure space and services
- Ensure accurate and timely client and vendor billing
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into the operating system
- Arrange customers’ international export shipments
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, Operational Process Standards, government regulations, and customer requirements
- Improve department process efficiency and follow customer standard operating procedures
- Work with the team to meet KPI standards
- Monitor shipment reports to ensure customer satisfaction
- Support overseas communications
- Review Stat 1 and operational reports and update event codes
- Audit files and help meet operating process standards
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and customers
- Evaluate vendors and develop corrective action plans where needed
- Monitor accounts payable and intercompany accounting discrepancies
- Respond to information requests and assist with competitive pricing
- Participate in transitioning new business and updating existing business
- Assist in retention calls and complete customer reviews
- Develop and mentor team members
- Allocate workloads during peak activity or staff absence
- Mentor agents and support team training requirements
- Communicate department goals and expectations
- Promote productivity tools and implement system changes
- Suggest system and process improvements
- Promote the company’s cultural attributes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years of industry specific qualification (country specific)
- Good market and product knowledge
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Pro-active, strong organizational skills
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Hazardous Materials certification (preferred)
- Fluent in English
