About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, coach, and develop the Incident Response team through one-to-ones, feedback, and performance/development conversations
- Manage the caseload and people while personally leading the most complex or high-profile incidents
- Own end-to-end incident response service quality, including case intake, coordination, technical execution, client communication, and closure/reporting
- Own delivery KPIs including time-to-containment, case-report quality and timeliness, and client satisfaction
- Manage on-call and case-lead rostering and workload according to severity and client exposure
- Act as senior escalation point and incident commander for major incidents
- Own quality assurance and peer review of incident reports
- Own and scale automation for evidence collection, timeline building, and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement of incident response playbooks, tooling, processes, runbooks, and SOPs
- Represent Incident Response in cross-functional discussions with SOC, Prevention, Product, Customer Success, and Legal
- Coordinate ransomware and business email compromise investigations and perform forensic work
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of hands-on incident response / digital forensics experience
- Deep, current knowledge of DFIR methodology, EDR platforms, cloud security, and attacker TTPs
- Ability to personally run a complex case
- Composure and sound judgement under pressure during live incidents
- Strong incident-report writing and report-review skills
- Clear, calm, authoritative communication with clients and internal stakeholders during a crisis
- Proven experience leading or supervising a technical team through high-pressure, time-critical work
- First-line management experience or a strong informal leadership track record
- Fluent English
- Dutch required for client-facing work
- Nice-to-have: background in a CERT, CSIRT, MDR, or DFIR-focused environment
- Nice-to-have: experience handling cases with legal or regulatory exposure
- Nice-to-have: scripting/automation experience applied to investigation workflows
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with NIS2, ISO 27001, and GDPR
