About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translate business product strategy into executable technical deliverables
  • Manage complex product backlogs and drive tactical execution
  • Mentor junior Technical Product Owners
  • Create precise, AI-ready requirements using Given-When-Then (Gherkin) format
  • Design solutions integrating AI capabilities such as LLMs, RAG, and agents where appropriate
  • Use AI assistants for code generation, test creation, documentation, and learning
  • Evaluate AI outputs and shape practices for prompt design, evaluation, and safety
  • Author comprehensive user stories and acceptance criteria covering happy paths, edge cases, errors, integrations, security, performance, and compliance
  • Document dependencies, integration points, and system interactions
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and technical leads
  • Review and accept completed stories and validate production readiness
  • Test delivered functionality across integration points and documented scenarios
  • Coordinate with QA teams on acceptance criteria and automated testing
  • Own, maintain, prioritize, and sequence complex user story backlogs
  • Translate roadmaps into development-ready stories and break complex features into appropriately sized stories
  • Make tactical trade-off decisions and create release plans
  • Identify and escalate delivery risks and impediments
  • Lead sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Partner with Scrum Masters, developers, architects, QA engineers, and designers
  • Provide expert guidance during development and present completed work in sprint reviews
  • Champion Agile and BDD practices
  • Serve as senior contact between development teams and business stakeholders
  • Facilitate requirements discovery sessions and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Communicate sprint progress, release readiness, and risks
  • Negotiate scope, priorities, and trade-offs
  • Mentor and coach junior TPOs and review their stories
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and training
  • Participate in or lead product owner communities of practice
  • Drive adoption of tools, methodologies, and practices improving delivery effectiveness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7–10 years as a TPO, Business Analyst, or Technical Product Owner in Agile teams
  • Minimum 3–5 years at senior/lead level handling complex, enterprise-scale products
  • Expert in writing detailed user stories with comprehensive acceptance criteria using Given-When-Then format
  • Strong Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) experience
  • Advanced technical acumen with system architecture, data models, APIs, and integration patterns
  • Proven leadership within Agile/Scrum teams
  • Expert proficiency with Agile tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence)
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Preferred: CSPO, A-CSPO, CPO, or PMI-ACP certification
  • Preferred: Experience with BDD tools (Cucumber, SpecFlow, Behave)
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.)
  • Preferred: Understanding of test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
  • Preferred: Background in software development, architecture, or QA
  • Preferred: Experience leading product ownership for multiple teams
