About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Increase revenue in the assigned region, territory, or district by identifying, recruiting, and developing opportunity-generating partnerships
  • Drive partners to operate as an extension of F5’s direct sales team through sales and technical training, demand-generation marketing, and mutual business planning
  • Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and promptly report violations
  • Ensure partners can position and sell F5 solutions effectively
  • Drive partner sales training opportunities and ensure partners understand F5’s UNITY Partner program
  • Identify new sales opportunities with partners and manage pipeline growth
  • Coordinate partners, F5 sales representatives, and management throughout the sales process
  • Lead opportunity registration, booking forecasts, and tracking against partner booking goals
  • Develop relationships throughout partner organizations, including management, sales, technical, and marketing teams
  • Manage conflicts involving deal registration, support contracts, and partner tier requirements
  • Leverage F5 marketing funds for demand-generation activities and manage channel marketing funds
  • Conduct account-mapping sessions focused on net-new accounts and opportunities in existing accounts
  • Develop and execute strategic partner business plans, updated quarterly and used as the basis for QBRs
  • Work on strategic initiatives and report business issues and opportunities to channel or executive management
  • Build relationships with strategic ecosystem partners such as VMware, Microsoft, Oracle, and Cisco
  • Recruit and develop new partner relationships to expand whitespace penetration and access new vertical and technology markets
  • Create awareness and training programs for the F5 sales force and participate in district QBRs
  • Support geographic territories and strategic partner accounts in North America
  • Lead planning and programs for strategic partners
  • Influence internal F5 groups and obtain sponsorship for partner programs
  • Engage ecosystem partners to plan activities that increase F5 awareness and opportunities
  • Communicate business-plan priorities and progress across multiple executive roles
  • Achieve quarterly channel metrics, including PIO, security and software attach rates, net-new accounts, and competitive take-outs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA or Master's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 8+ years of directly related experience, progressing to senior-level role(s)
  • Highly efficient and organized; excellent time management skills
  • Highly developed, clear, concise, and compelling communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to articulate complex technology simply
  • Well-developed business acumen and understanding of business strategy
  • Excellent conflict management skills, with the ability to be fair and firm
  • Knowledge of enterprise networks, security, and applications (desired)
  • Detailed experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent sales and management skills
  • Experience in two-tiered channel resale models
  • Background in software/hardware sales and distribution with large software, hardware, security, and/or networking companies
  • Proven track record of success in sales and marketing programs
  • Strong knowledge of Application Delivery Networks and security
  • In-depth knowledge of partner organizations, processes, business drivers, and internal operations
  • Ability to be on call periodically and work outside normal working hours
  • Ability to travel out of town up to 60% of the time
