About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish process principles, standards, and roadmaps across product and platform engineering
- Partner with Product and cross-functional leaders to design strategies, audit compliance, and close gaps
- Translate process intent into tool requirements, workflows, and guardrails for Jira, Confluence, internal platforms, and BI surfaces
- Serve as strategic thought partner to the VP, Engineering and Strategy
- Drive alignment across Technical Program Management, AI Enablement, Tools & Data Visualization, Product, and engineering leadership
- Build, coach, and lead a Process Engineering team spanning tooling product management, internal UI/UX, and process and data audit
- Design and run the operating rhythm for Engineering Operations and Strategy
- Translate organizational priorities into actionable plans with goals, workstreams, milestones, and owners
- Prepare decision-oriented reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership
- Plan and facilitate senior leadership meetings and cross-functional working sessions
- Map end-to-end engineering workflows and design scalable standards
- Establish workflow standards and process frameworks for intake, prioritization, delivery, documentation, and operational metrics
- Build governance and audit practices; assess adoption and drive corrective action
- Lead process and data audit work and develop KPIs, scorecards, and feedback loops
- Turn process design into business requirements for internal tools, automation, and visualization
- Direct Tooling Product Management on vision, backlog, and adoption
- Guide UI/UX for internal tools and BI surfaces
- Partner with AI Enablement on automation and AI-assisted workflows
- Hire, coach, and performance-manage a distributed Process Engineering team
- Drive adoption through communications, training, knowledge management, and change management
- Influence across Directors and Senior Directors and represent Engineering Operations in cross-functional forums
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Typically, 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering operations, business systems and workflow, process excellence, strategy and operations, technical program management, management consulting, or a related discipline
- 3+ years leading people
- Experience in a software product engineering environment
- Demonstrated experience designing standards, workflows, or operating processes and driving adoption across multiple teams or business units
- Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and technology or tools organizations to deliver measurable outcomes
- Ability to set process and operating-model strategy across team boundaries and influence senior engineering and product leadership
- Experience designing and improving business or engineering processes across complex, cross-functional organizations and embedding those processes in systems
- Experience with workflow design, business requirements, Atlassian or equivalent platforms, automation, and BI/visualization
- Experience hiring and leading mixed-seniority, geographically distributed teams
- Analytical and data-literate; able to define KPIs and use evidence to make decisions
- Change leadership, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and influence in a matrixed engineering organization
- Ability to handle confidential business and personnel information professionally
