About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a trusted technical architect and strategic advisor to Fortune 500 enterprises and fast-growing digital innovators
- Design, champion, and sell F5 application delivery and security solutions across multi-cloud, hybrid, and edge environments
- Partner with CISOs, Cloud Architects, and Platform Engineering leaders to translate business goals into architectural blueprints
- Guide enterprise customers from BIG-IP foundations to modern hybrid architectures
- Lead technical discovery, design validations, and solution demonstrations for WAAP, Bot Defense, DDoS mitigation, and Zero Trust access
- Help organizations modernize traffic management, Kubernetes ingress patterns, AI inference pipelines, and AI Gateway architectures
- Demonstrate Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD workflows to connect NetOps, SecOps, and DevOps
- Lead technical evaluations, identify customer priorities, and validate F5’s differentiated value
- Share customer insights with F5 Product and Engineering teams to shape distributed cloud and security roadmaps
- Achieve allocated sales targets in partnership with sales and account teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, technical consulting, or an equivalent customer-aligned systems/solutions architecture role
- Proven experience supporting and building trust with large enterprise accounts, particularly within high-compliance or highly regulated industries
- Ability to connect deep technical capabilities to real-world business outcomes
- Prior experience with modern edge cloud/WAAP platforms, API gateway technologies, or hyperscaler cloud networking practices
- Familiarity with securing or optimizing emerging AI workloads, LLM inference endpoints, or modern data services
- Understanding of Web Application Security, API protection such as OWASP API Top 10, automated threat mitigation, and Zero Trust principles
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, modern ingress controllers, API gateways, or service mesh technologies such as NGINX
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and hybrid connectivity patterns
- Experience with Python, Go, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, or GitOps practices
- Strong knowledge of enterprise ADCs, traffic management, and security infrastructure
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, HTTP/2, SSL/TLS, DNS, and Unix/Linux-based operating systems
- BS/BA degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical industry experience
- Relevant industry certifications are preferred but not required
