About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, execute, and manage the financial performance of assigned facilities maintenance and construction projects from award through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and staffing plans
  • Oversee project execution in accordance with contract requirements and quality standards
  • Identify, manage, and escalate project risks
  • Track costs, forecast budgets, analyze variances, and maintain margin sustainability
  • Prepare and process change orders, pay applications, and invoices
  • Review subcontractor and vendor contracts and invoices
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead project meetings and provide status updates to clients and leadership
  • Manage client expectations and resolve escalated issues
  • Develop and track project-specific KPIs with clients
  • Direct and coordinate Construction Managers, Project Coordinators, and subcontractors
  • Partner with Estimating on project handoff and scope clarification
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of project staff
  • Mentor and train Project Coordinators and new hires
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, permits, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, submittals, and closeout records
  • Support risk management and insurance/bonding requirements
  • Perform due diligence with local municipalities and coordinate with permit expeditors
  • Manage qualifying and vetting of subcontractor proposals and project bids
  • Directly supervise Project Coordinators and Construction Managers and provide work direction to subcontractors
  • Split time between an indoor office and active construction/maintenance sites

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-8 years of project management experience in construction or facilities maintenance
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and contract management
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
  • Experience with work order management (WOM) systems
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Local travel required for site visits
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects preferred
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and client management skills
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday within standard office hours
  • Ability to travel locally up to 40%
  • Ability to perform physical demands including lifting up to 25 lbs, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and grasping
