About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead FactSet’s end-to-end acquisition, strategic investment and commercial partnership activities
  • Report to the Chief Financial Officer and lead a lean, high-impact Corporate Development team
  • Shape FactSet’s inorganic strategy and roadmap, including M&A and partnerships
  • Analyze and recommend potential transactions of interest
  • Lead cross-functional teams executing acquisitions, strategic minority investments and other transactions
  • Own M&A processes from initial contact through closing, including strategic evaluation, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, transaction structuring, negotiation and execution
  • Develop and enforce frameworks for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing and pursuing inorganic opportunities
  • Represent FactSet externally with founders, executives, investors and industry participants
  • Originate and incubate strategic partnerships through commercial launch, pilots, agreements, joint ventures and minority investments
  • Manage transition of acquisitions and partnerships to internal teams and govern integration to capture value
  • Review prior transactions and initiatives to capture lessons learned
  • Build consensus and influence executive- and board-level decision-making
  • Strengthen M&A infrastructure, processes, playbooks and tools
  • Maintain advisor and industry relationships for market intelligence
  • Lead, develop and coach the Corporate Development team
  • Support strategic initiatives, ad-hoc analyses and special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting or equivalent required; advanced degree (Masters/MBA) strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of experience, including leadership roles in investment banking, consulting, private equity, strategy or corporate development
  • At least 10 years of prior transaction experience in a deal environment, particularly buy-side M&A; deal sheet required
  • Familiarity with FactSet and the broader technology, AI or information services industry
  • Deep financial acumen and experience across the entire M&A lifecycle from identification and execution through integration
  • Familiarity with structuring and negotiating acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments, joint ventures and partnerships
  • Demonstrated success building and identifying opportunities through external networks
  • Credibility serving as a public-facing representative with founders, executives, advisors and partners
  • Experience originating and standing up strategic or commercial partnerships, including nascent relationships
  • Proven numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable insights, solutions or next steps
  • Ability to partner with the CEO, CFO and senior leaders to formulate the inorganic roadmap and execute strategy
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on and bias-to-action approach; player-coach mentality
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
