About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the senior technical owner of infrastructure operations at the Virginia data center
- Lead enhancement of infrastructure software and hardware tooling to improve deployment, connectivity, and user experience
- Provide project management and technical oversight for large-scale technology rollouts and facility buildouts
- Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure design, focusing on autonomy and scalability
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues
- Act as the escalation point for infrastructure support
- Partner with director-level stakeholders and other departments to align goals and integrate tools, systems, and projects
- Manage contractor and vendor relationships to deliver regionalized services and cost-conscious contracts
- Champion best practices, coach and mentor engineers, and foster technical excellence
- Monitor infrastructure capacity in the data center
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience in data center or enterprise infrastructure operations, including hardware, networking, and systems support, with a record of increasing responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and rollouts from planning through delivery
- Experience with alerting, monitoring, and incident management in a production environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with director-level and cross-departmental audiences
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor and contractor relationships, particularly with telecoms
- Experience with hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments
- Scripting or automation skills used to improve operational tooling and deployment
- Experience with facility buildouts, colocation, or regional service and contract management
- Experience managing assets with ITSM and DCIM tooling
