About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Answer telephone, handle all calls appropriately, and schedule appointments for new and existing patients
- Enter patient demographics, insurance, and referral information into EMR
- Cancel and reschedule appointments, as assigned
- Work as directed/as needed
- Maintain and follow HIPAA policies and procedures
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Manager/Director
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of job duties within scope of practice
- Interact respectfully with all levels of staff
- Provide assistance during assigned duty hours
- Participate in department activities
- Promote patient independence and socialization
- Advocate for patients’ quality of life while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulatory, and organizational standards

Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to fluently speak and read English
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, handbooks, policies, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with all levels of staff and patients
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior medical office experience, preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Previous customer service experience
- Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, bend, and sit
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Subject to infectious waste, potential exposure to allergens in concentrated forms, diseases, and conditions
