About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop comprehensive privacy frameworks, ensuring alignment with applicable regulations and integration with organizational processes and technologies
  • Respond to data protection queries and provide guidance on policy/procedural requirements to business teams across the Group Companies
  • Support the Head of Legal Data Privacy as the specialist lead for privacy on ongoing projects ensuring Farfetch Group's compliance with global Data Protection Laws and regulations
  • Monitor the global regulatory landscape for updates on privacy laws, regulations, guidelines, and court rulings, focusing on key business jurisdictions
  • Support drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Data Protection Clauses in commercial agreements, protecting Farfetch as controller and processor
  • Advise on material business projects and work autonomously to embed Privacy by Design in new product launches and technology initiatives
  • Assist the Head of Legal Data Privacy in assessing new projects and providers for compliance with privacy standards
  • Support targeted, high-impact privacy training for Marketing, Engineering, People Team, and other business functions
  • Proactively audit the existing privacy program and support scalable improvements to the data protection program

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Be a qualified lawyer with ~8 years' PQE (professional experience after internship)
  • You possess a well-rounded legal background spanning both top-tier private practice and significant in-house experience
  • Have work experience in Data Protection Law, preferably in retail, e-commerce and/or technology sectors
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience of EU, UK, and US data protection regulations, as well as familiarity with key regulatory authorities and enforcement bodies, is required
  • Have an excellent level of English, both written and spoken
  • Certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) and a master’s degree in Privacy, Data Protection, Law, or a related field are considered a plus
