About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise on payment regulation and broader regulatory frameworks, including digital regulation, product compliance and consumer protection
- Track and assess existing and new requirements for the Farfetch Group, focusing on payments regulation, and advise on implementation
- Identify, monitor and evaluate regulatory risks and enforcement trends and take proactive mitigation steps
- Develop strategies for and engage with relevant regulators
- Advise on commercial matters, including contractual agreements with partners and payment processors, and ensure a compliant payment model
- Work on tariffs-related matters and provide legal advice
- Negotiate, draft and review commercial contracts, policies, guidance and other legal documentation
- Provide proactive, strategic and pragmatic advice
- Liaise with external law firms when needed
- Support the Group Legal VP, Regulatory Legal Team and business in operating compliantly
- Use legal technology and AI tools ethically to deliver advice efficiently and help the team adopt these tools
- Act as a business partner across a global luxury fashion marketplace
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified lawyer with at least 4 years’ PQE
- Superior analytical skills and creative problem-solving skills
- Prior in-house experience would be beneficial
- Excellent training, preferably in a top-tier law firm
- Experience advising on payments regulation and commercial matters
- Proven ability to assess new international legislation/regulation and apply it on a risk-based basis to a business
- Ability to absorb information quickly, apply it in assessments, and drive implementation
- Ability to understand nuances and complexities and translate them into commercial, pragmatic, concise advice
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Highly proactive, organized and efficient; able to work on fast-moving projects
- Ability to work autonomously and in teams
- Ability to supervise legal counsel and support the Group Legal VP and Regulatory Legal Team
- Excellent communication, organization and drafting skills
- Commercial acumen; driven, forward-thinking, robust, innovative and agile
