About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and financial records for assigned books of business or companies
  • Review, test, and validate accounting impacts from system changes
  • Research accounting issues and provide recommendations and solutions
  • Provide and control deviation analysis reports for balance sheet and operating results
  • Provide business unit, state, and actuarial support as assigned
  • Prepare reports and statements for state and regulatory filings
  • Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
  • Identify adjustments and corrective actions and prepare reconciliation documentation
  • Complete assigned miscellaneous special projects and other duties
  • Promote safety and comply with safety/ergonomic standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information
  • Adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift
  • Ability to occasionally move, push, pull, lift, carry, and/or place objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to frequently perform typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift
  • Ability to perform occasional navigation of stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces
  • Ability to perform rare bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees
