About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide data in response to one-time or recurring report and analysis requests
Understand customer objectives and processes, refine requirements, and communicate estimated hours and timelines
Extract data using Cognos ReportNet, OBIEE Answers, or similar business query interfaces
Extract data from relational databases, data warehouses, and other data stores using SQL
Format data for business use in Excel, Access, or similar formats
Produce reports manually and through automated scripting
Create and maintain scripts and macros to automate reports
Support application testing for enhancements and system upgrades
Identify and communicate data quality issues or data differences
Develop intuitive reports and document unique data aspects or limitations
Develop in-depth knowledge of data associated with at least one line of business
Communicate proactively with customers and team members
Collaborate with team members and deliver assigned work efficiently
Work in a climate-controlled office environment with occasional travel by car or airplane

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field preferred
Internal candidates: preferred 2+ years of Farmers or other insurance claims experience
External candidates: 2+ years of experience with data extraction, manipulation, and presentation in a usable format
Advanced MS Excel proficiency, including Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, AutoFilter, and formulas
Proficiency with BI query tools such as Cognos ReportNet, OBIEE Answers, BusinessObjects, or similar systems
MS Access proficiency with loading data, writing queries, and manipulating data
Proficiency with basic SQL queries involving a few tables and limited criteria
Ability to see, hear, speak, and type proficiently
Valid, local legal authorization to work in the country where the role is based at hire; FBS does not sponsor work authorization unless explicitly stated
