About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply advanced analytics and modeling to improve business results
  • Leverage customer information and behavioral data to influence strategic business decisions
  • Use complex, innovative analytics, multivariate models, machine learning, and data mining technologies
  • Assist with and/or lead small projects operationalizing business decisions with limited managerial guidance
  • Potentially manage a team of up to two junior data scientists
  • Execute projects involving consumer analytics, retention models, agency economics, and lead optimization
  • Scope projects, define measures of success, and execute intermediate-level projects within prescribed timelines
  • Partner with IT, business, and data management/engineering teams to understand, use, and improve data infrastructure
  • Advise on fundamental concerns and support fact-based decision-making and a measures-of-success culture
  • Develop presentations and present to leadership
  • Communicate complex technical material to non-technical associates
  • Manage moderate model deployments using MLOps techniques
  • Work with analytics and IT teams to deploy models and rules across platforms and support testing of new solutions
  • Mentor junior data science team members and provide technical and non-technical coaching

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum three years of work experience required in data analysis, statistical or mathematical modeling, or related
  • Working knowledge and experience applying advanced analytics and modeling
  • Knowledge of consumer analytics, including retention models, agency economics, and lead optimization
  • Moderate knowledge of advanced programming, complex ETL, and specialized modeling methods
  • Experience with multivariate models, machine learning, and data mining technologies
  • Ability to write clean, reusable code and effective documentation
  • Ability to scope projects, define measures of success, and execute projects within prescribed timelines
  • Ability to partner with IT, business, and data management/engineering teams
  • Ability to develop presentations and present to leadership
  • Ability to communicate complex technical material to non-technical associates
  • Knowledge of model deployments via MLOps techniques
  • Ability to support testing of new solutions
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior data science team members
  • Master's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, business analytics, or related preferred
