About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences
  • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements
  • Use claims handling software, a company car, and laptop to determine damage and write estimates in a paperless environment
  • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities
  • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies
  • Perform duties independently with direct impact on management outcomes
  • Act as a company representative in public interactions
  • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders
  • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims using strong customer service skills
  • Promote safety and comply with company safety and ergonomic standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment
  • Construction or Insurance experience highly desirable and preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Proficiency with smartphones and applications
  • Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage
  • Valid driver's license and bondable
  • Final candidates subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check
  • Willing and able to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times per day
  • Comfortable working in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces
  • Achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams
  • Able to carry up to 50 lbs.
  • English speaking, reading, writing, and key entering required
  • Must currently live within the Fort Worth, Arlington, or Euless, Texas area
  • Willing to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments per year
  • Catastrophe team employees may be required to travel away from residence for usually 23 days
