About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist attorneys in answering interrogatories
  • Interview clients and reduce answers to writing; review work with attorneys and prepare answers in final form
  • Obtain, review and summarize medical records at the direction of trial attorneys
  • Arrange for medical examinations
  • Assist attorneys in preparing motions and research related legal points
  • Assist attorneys in interviewing witnesses before and during trials as necessary
  • Assist attorneys in preparing documents and evidence for trial
  • Perform other assigned functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 year Associates Degree OR 3 years experience working as a Paralegal
  • Paralegal certificate or a degree in paralegal studies or completion of at least one year of law school
  • California civil litigation and discovery experience
  • One year experience working in a civil litigation law firm preferred
  • Paralegal certificate from American Bar Association (ABA) approved program preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Candidates in surrounding states must have California discovery experience
