About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage an assigned territory of core Foremost Independent Agencies
  • Prospect and appoint new agencies
  • Drive profitable premium growth and achieve financial and operational goals
  • Develop and manage agency partnerships as the primary relationship between agencies and the company
  • Promote and support Foremost products and services, including complex accounts
  • Lead, develop, and execute territory tactical plans and agency management processes
  • Build and cultivate agency partnerships in person using a consultative sales framework
  • Deliver product, underwriting philosophy, appetite, and system training
  • Create, maintain, and execute agency strategies and plans
  • Hold agents accountable to achieve written premium, profit, and new business goals
  • Collaborate with field distribution partners on carrier consolidation, agency storefront expansion, and new product or program rollouts
  • Ensure quality new business flow, appropriate business mix, and risk management across the territory
  • Use internal reporting, marketing and development programs, business development tools, and production and profitability data
  • Serve as a subject matter specialist for internal business partners including underwriting, product management, claims, and service operations
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities, solve problems, and share competitor and industry intelligence
  • Mentor or coach less experienced team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • CIC, CPCU, or insurance licenses preferred upon hire
  • Minimum five years of field insurance sales and management work experience with progressing responsibility
  • Experience achieving consistent profitable premium growth and sales success
  • Experience working with independent agents in the LA Metro market highly preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and direction
  • Ability to travel weekly in the field
  • Ability to move, push, pull, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Clear vision, with or without correction
  • Adequate hearing, with or without correction
