About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions using Generative AI, RAG, and Agentic AI frameworks
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient AI-powered systems supporting critical Federal Reserve business functions
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical AI/ML solution designs using Terraform across AWS Cloud environments
- Design and implement GenAI, RAG, and Agentic AI solutions using AWS Bedrock and related services
- Architect RAG pipelines, vector database integrations, and multi-agent orchestration systems
- Analyze business requirements and ensure design traceability
- Prepare testing strategies, implementation plans, transition plans, specifications, and documentation
- Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Develop Python and Bash automation scripts for model deployment, data pipelines, and manual-process automation
- Resolve complex AI infrastructure and application problems and recommend proactive reliability improvements
- Support system health and performance reviews
- Develop React user interfaces and internal monitoring and administrative tools
- Build and maintain APIs and integration services
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain software enhancements
- Participate in and indirectly lead AI infrastructure and cross-functional projects
- Provide project updates and management reports
- Collaborate in an Agile team to develop AI capabilities
- Train technical staff on AI tools, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and related platforms
- Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions
- Mentor junior engineers
- Perform change and problem management according to FRIT policies
- Contribute to department standards, procedures, and best practices
- Assist with internal audit and Information Security Manual compliance
- Ensure implementations follow security, responsible AI, compliance, and cost-optimization practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status with at least three years of legal residency
- Progressive experience building GenAI, RAG, and Agentic AI solutions, including prompt engineering, RAG pipeline design, and agent orchestration frameworks
- Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and related AI/ML services
- Strong programming skills in Python and Bash
- Advanced proficiency in Terraform, including module development and state management
- Progressive experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, RDS, and Systems Manager
- Strong proficiency in CI/CD and deployment automation using GitLab pipelines
- Proficiency in React
- Strong understanding of Git, branching strategies, and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in AI/ML engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Engineering
- Certifications related to Information Technology or AI/ML strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, security principles, system design, and scalability
- Experience with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and iterative development
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lead technical discussions and influence architecture decisions
- Availability for possible on-call rotation and callback
- Ability to work full-time onsite within a reasonable commuting distance of the employing Reserve Bank
