About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop new business opportunities throughout the assigned Western Region territory
  • Manage key customer relationships and drive sales growth
  • Partner with commercial customers and OEM dealer sales teams
  • Promote products and identify business opportunities
  • Establish and maintain new and existing customers through company visits and contact calls
  • Drive end-user sales through the dealer-direct network
  • Present product information to increase and maintain sales
  • Train dealer sales staff on products, demonstrations, and dealer/prospect calls
  • Complete estimates and develop customer sales programs as needed
  • Assist with customer service, complaint follow-up, troubleshooting, product literature, and price changes
  • Complete dealer call reports and sales forecasting
  • Maintain competitor files
  • Demonstrate products and work trade shows
  • Travel frequently within the assigned territory and attend company events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of sales experience; vocational truck experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the truck equipment industry preferred
  • Ability to travel 75–80% of the time
  • Ability to train dealers and customers
  • Technical knowledge preferred in hydraulics, steel, report creation, and calculations
  • Commercial Driver’s License desired
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
  • Ability to drive long distances and travel overnight occasionally
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to use a computer, tablet, smartphone, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry sales materials, product samples, displays, and marketing materials up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through virtual meeting platforms
  • Ability to work in customer facilities, manufacturing locations, warehouses, and office settings
  • Ability to travel to the California area
