About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process and obtain customs clearance approval for import/export and transshipments of documents, packages, and merchandise
- Prepare customs forms, master airway bills, cargo manifests, general declarations, invoices, and related paperwork
- Prepare forms detailing customs duties, tariffs, taxes, and V.A.T. fees
- Prepare international manifests for customs clearance
- Ensure compliance with country customs and tax laws and FedEx policies and procedures
- Interface with customs officials and coordinate customs activities with internal operations employees
- Contact customers for additional information and inform them of duties and taxes
- Maintain organized customs documentation and filing
- Perform sorting and baggage support at the airport and station
- Retrieve air freight from carriers as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School degree/Equivalent
- Two (2) years experience in international freight/cargo customs policies, procedures, rules, and laws
- Knowledge of airport and customs clearance procedures preferred
- Personable and good written and verbal communication skills
- Drivers license
- General office skills and computer literate
- CRT experience preferred
- Customs-specific English required
