About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and own the forecast model for Credit and other new products, starting with limited historical data.
  • Develop and maintain unit economics for each new product, including cost to originate, expected loss, and margin per unit.
  • Own the budget-vs-actual process for new products, including driver-based variance analysis.
  • Lead consumer lending portfolio modeling, including loan origination, repayment behavior, portfolio performance, and profitability analysis.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business P&L, identifying risks, opportunities, and operational levers that impact profitability.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc analysis on new-product performance for Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Reconcile new-product figures against BigQuery and Abacum to ensure reported numbers tie to actual activity.
  • Flag data gaps and quality issues early.
  • Partner with Credit and Product teams on launches, pricing changes, and portfolio shifts.
  • Work with Data and Engineering to ensure products are instrumented for forecasting and reporting from day one.
  • Extend Félix’s FP&A tooling, including Abacum, to cover new products.
  • Build repeatable processes and documentation for scalable new-product forecasting.
  • Support budgeting, reforecasting, and board reporting as products mature.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, focused on financial planning and analysis rather than pure accounting; experience in a startup, scale-up, or fintech environment preferred.
  • Experience with credit products (e.g., consumer lending, BNPL/SNPL) in a finance or FP&A capacity is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in financial modeling techniques and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, charting).
  • Experience with financial planning and reporting systems required; Abacum experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working with large, transaction-level datasets beyond spreadsheets alone; SQL or other database query language experience is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive about using AI to work faster and more accurately, as a tool that sharpens judgment rather than a substitute for it.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build financial models and processes from scratch, with limited precedent to work from.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
