About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect and implement scalable backend microservices within the Payments, Disbursements, or GRC squad
- Develop and optimize systems for securely collecting funds and efficiently processing transactions
- Design and implement services for secure and timely disbursement of funds to beneficiaries
- Build and enhance systems for user onboarding, KYC, and regulatory compliance
- Design and manage infrastructure handling millions of daily requests with strong security and performance
- Use Google Cloud services and industry-standard tools to build and maintain distributed systems
- Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and other business units
- Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices
- Use user feedback and system analytics to refine platform capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Fluent or advanced English
- Proven track record of building, shipping, and iterating on software applications, particularly in the Fintech domain
- Solid foundation in algorithms and data structures
- Experience designing and implementing web services, including REST APIs
- Familiarity with Hexagonal Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, A/B Testing, Feature Flags, and Gradual Rollouts
- Experience in payment systems, financial disbursement solutions, or compliance-driven platforms is highly desirable
- Knowledge of security protocols, compliance standards, and KYC/AML processes
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies
- Excellent collaboration and prioritization skills in a team-oriented environment
- Equivalent competencies in the listed areas will also be considered
- Familiarity with React, HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Python, Flask/FastAPI, REST APIs, Redis, SQL, gRPC, Google Cloud services, Kubernetes, Terraform, NewRelic, and PagerDuty is helpful
