About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage an office of multi-discipline engineers and designers providing contract documents for Fire Sprinkler, Fire Alarm, Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, and HVAC systems
- Oversee documents including bid plans, permit plans, construction documents, field plans, installation plans, engineering judgements, and shop drawings
- Manage CAD-based drafting and create production-ready drawings
- Update detail drawings per client requests
- Direct and train support personnel in detailed design preparation
- Manage a team of designers by assigning projects, assisting with design questions, and managing team time
- Collaborate with the design team to review drawings and designs
- Manage drawing adjustments based on engineer or architect feedback
- Ensure technical drawings accurately represent engineer and architect concepts
- Direct CAD software application and design conceptualization
- Ensure design compliance with company regulations and quality standards
- Oversee six associates and report to the Senior Manager - Engineering Services
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15 years of experience in interpreting engineering/architectural drawings and blueprints
- 7 years of Fire Sprinkler design experience preferred
- NICET Certification Preferred
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Ability to manage multi-discipline engineers and designers
- Ability to direct and train support personnel
- Ability to manage design projects, team time, and design questions
- Ability to ensure design compliance with company regulations and quality standards
