About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the subject matter authority for residential and light commercial unitary products and provide technical support
- Create and maintain consultative sales relationships with new and existing clients
- Provide product suggestions and expertise
- Conduct job-site visits
- Collaborate with partners at all levels to promote Ferguson products
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside sales, field technicians, and customers
- Provide technical product knowledge and product training in person and virtually to customers and internal associates
- Work with branch personnel to ensure customer service from order through delivery and beyond
- Continually improve product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field
- Act as liaison between contractors and manufacturers
- Work with manufacturers to report potential issues from the field
- Troubleshoot off site via phone or text messaging with customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience as a service technician in both residential and light commercial HVAC products
- Experience with residential and light commercial products and related products
- Strong proficiency with computer and software programs, including all Microsoft Applications
- Strong proficiency with PowerPoint
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with people at multiple levels of the organization
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and multitasking skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple, urgent requests
- Proven time management and organizational skills
- Detailed and able to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Self-starter, creative problem solver, and self-sufficient
- Ability to troubleshoot off site via phone or text messaging with customers
- Ability to read and understand schematics for troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Extensive travel required
- Ability to reside in the Pomona, Gilroy, or Bakersfield, California area
