About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce, coach, train, and develop a team of licensed retail bankers
  • Handle complex client financial profiles and a large book of clients
  • Sell the full range of securities products and achieve targeted securities fee income goals

  • Manage risk in accordance with bank policies and risk appetite
  • Achieve sales goals while serving clients' best interests
  • Conduct individual and group coaching sessions
  • Review existing accounts and close sales
  • Handle daily client needs, prioritize and delegate tasks, and follow up after appointments
  • Manage sales planning for self and team
  • Maintain knowledge of financial products through self-study, periodicals, and coursework
  • Prepare internal sales-tracking reports
  • Coordinate daily with the team to complete accountabilities
  • Conduct internal and external business-development seminars
  • Refer clients to other Fifth Third Bank services, including loans, estate planning, and deposits
  • Coach and mentor licensed bank employees
  • Equip licensed bankers with tools and skills for success
  • Guide team progress toward established goals and recognize achievement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Prior brokerage industry experience
  • Series 7 and Series 66, or Series 63 and 65
  • Appropriate state-required insurance licenses (with stated Michigan and Ohio exception)
  • Variable Annuity license
  • Motivated by commission sales, recognition programs, and internal sales competition
  • Ability to motivate others in a team environment
  • Highly developed coaching and teaching skills
  • Ability to communicate complex products and processes
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex financial concepts
  • Experience building strong internal and external client relationships
  • Highly developed knowledge of the securities business, investment products, and financial solutions
  • Highly developed sales and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory
