About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a 4–8 week onboarding and education program with rotations in Operations and Sales & Service
- Obtain certification demonstrating skills required for the Retail Personal Banker job family
- Sell banking products and services, including deposits, loans and fee-based services
- Build customer relationships and retain customers through consultative sales and service
- Conduct Financial Needs Assessments and build customer profiles
- Recommend Retail consumer and small business products and services
- Use CAMP and approved marketing tools to contact customers and set financial review appointments
- Cross-sell to existing customers and participate in outside sales activities
- Build relationships with Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment partners and make referrals
- Meet customer experience and production goals and support revenue growth
- Guide CSRs on sales and referral processes
- Answer customer questions, resolve customer issues and maintain confidentiality
- Open and service Retail products while following policies and procedures
- Participate in consumer loan and bankcard processes from application through closing
- Participate in Financial Center or Bank Mart opening and closing
- Mitigate fraudulent activity and unnecessary risk
Requirements
What you’ll need- College degree or work experience providing transferable skills, or combination of education and experience
- Experience in the financial industry preferred
- Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new consumer household and small business customers and/or cross-sell to established customers
- Understanding of advanced math functions for analysis of credit and financial information
- Professional appearance and verbal/written communication
- Ability to develop working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures
- S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
- Ability to travel within the affiliate for training
- Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training
- Scheduling flexibility
- Ability to work in a normal office environment with extended computer-screen viewing
