About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prospect independently for clients using referral sources, existing clients, and centers of influence
  • Develop and implement business plans to achieve financial and qualitative goals
  • Collaborate with internal partners to deepen relationships and acquire high-value prospects
  • Attend community and industry forums, conferences, and meetings to expand networks and market knowledge
  • Partner with Treasury Management, Capital Markets, and Wealth Management to develop tailored relationship strategies
  • Manage customer relationships to maximize bank opportunities while considering risk and customer needs
  • Meet customers regularly to strengthen trusted-advisor relationships and address business needs
  • Use consultative selling skills, commercial playbook principles, and call-reporting plans
  • Maintain client activity, call reports, and pipeline management in the CRM system
  • Analyze financial information to determine appropriate credit requests
  • Partner with Credit and follow Portfolio Management guidelines
  • Meet asset quality, credit administration, documentation, covenant-data, matured-note, exception, and RAROC standards
  • Participate actively in community activities
  • Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks within the Bank's risk appetite

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Business (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years Commercial Banking experience; at least 1 year in a sales role preferred
  • Formalized commercial credit training or equivalent credit experience required
  • Proven ability to build new and existing client business and increase revenue
  • Strong business acumen, including detailed financial statement analysis and understanding of accounting principles
  • Thorough knowledge of Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, and alternative lending and financing options
  • Ability to assess client needs, profitability drivers, and corporate/personal life cycles to optimize financial solutions
  • Ability to build strong internal partnerships for holistic client solutions
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication, face-to-face negotiation, and group presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team-based sales environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; familiarity with prospecting and CRM sales tools preferred
  • Regional/local travel required
  • Frequent travel possible depending on assignment
