About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete daily underwriting and credit monitoring duties
  • Perform analytical activities and identify risks or issues
  • Draft credit approval documents and review memos for loans and ancillary products
  • Build proficiency in underwriting and complete increasingly complex credits with limited oversight
  • Attend and support Portfolio Reviews as needed
  • Monitor Credit Excellence and initiate collection of financial statements for renewals and periodic reviews
  • Prepare credit approval memos with company and industry descriptions, credit risks, historical analysis, projection assumptions, and terms and conditions
  • Complete portfolio monitoring, including covenant tracking, financial statement reviews, and risk rating models
  • Verify covenants, update ticklers, monitor covenant completion, and track past-due or non-compliant covenants
  • Review completed spreads and collaborate with the CCU team to resolve edits or corrections
  • Generate pipeline and portfolio reporting for credit leadership, portfolio managers, underwriters, relationship managers, and others
  • Prepare Criticized Period Reviews reports with oversight
  • Run projection models using provided assumptions
  • Complete the underwriting process with limited oversight
  • Prepare portfolio analysis and Portfolio Review materials
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of credit data across internal systems and reports
  • Resolve data, documentation, or analysis deficiencies and escalate questions appropriately
  • Identify emerging risks or negative trends and escalate appropriately
  • Maintain working knowledge of Bancorp credit policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Perform Borrowing Entity PD Ratings and Obligation LGD Ratings
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new employees as needed
  • Support special projects or ad hoc analysis as assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, such as Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
  • 2+ years of Commercial Banking experience
  • Sound understanding of financial and risk analysis, including the ability to develop financial models
  • Extensive knowledge of banking products and services
  • Knowledge of corporate business structure and legal documents
  • General knowledge of U.S. government and regulation
  • Proficiency in internal banking applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining close attention to detail
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software
