About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead product design for complex initiatives across Figure Markets and contribute to shared experiences across Figure Lending and other products
- Turn ambiguous or incomplete product requirements into coherent end-to-end experiences
- Identify missing logic, dependencies, edge cases, and opportunities
- Develop understanding of financial concepts, customer workflows, business models, and technical constraints
- Partner with Product and Engineering from problem definition through implementation
- Explore approaches to difficult problems, communicate tradeoffs, and support product decisions
- Design sophisticated workflows, data-dense interfaces, account and transaction experiences, permissions, states, and interaction models
- Anticipate error states, lifecycle changes, permissions, regulatory constraints, system behavior, and downstream consequences
- Create prototypes and high-fidelity designs
- Contribute to Figure’s evolving design system and establish reusable patterns
- Partner with Engineering during implementation to preserve design intent and resolve constraints
- Use research, customer feedback, product data, domain expertise, and cross-functional input
- Present work to partners and senior leadership
- Provide critique and mentorship to other designers
- Identify patterns and opportunities across Markets, Lending, and future product areas
- Bring clarity to difficult problems, improve team decisions, and make sophisticated financial capabilities understandable and usable
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of product design experience, including significant experience owning complex products or major product areas
- Portfolio demonstrating strong product thinking, interaction design, and visual craft across real, shipped experiences
- Track record of solving complicated problems where requirements, customer needs, or the underlying product model were not fully defined at the outset
- Strong systems thinking and ability to understand how decisions affect workflows, states, users, and systems elsewhere
- Excellent interaction design skills for sophisticated workflows, data-heavy products, and multi-step experiences
- Strong visual design fundamentals, including typography, hierarchy, layout, information density, interaction detail, and product polish
- Ability to independently drive work from early problem framing through detailed design and implementation
- Comfort working closely with engineers and understanding technical systems sufficiently to make pragmatic design decisions
- Strong communication and storytelling skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience influencing Product and Engineering partners and constructively challenging requirements
- Collaborative mindset and ability to give and receive direct, thoughtful critique
- Customer-first approach prioritizing clarity, trust, and usability
- Adhere to all company security policies and data handling procedures
- Complete mandatory security awareness training within required timeframes
- Promptly report suspected security incidents or suspicious activity to the Security team
- Figure will not sponsor work visas; hired persons must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
- Nice to have: experience designing fintech, trading, investing, lending, crypto, capital markets, payments, or other financial products
- Nice to have: experience in regulated industries
- Nice to have: familiarity with institutional or professional financial workflows
- Nice to have: experience with complex account structures, transaction lifecycles, roles and permissions, or financial data
- Nice to have: experience contributing to design systems
