About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and own Fingerprint's application security roadmap
Establish review and vulnerability management processes
Embed security-by-default practices across engineering
Lead a small team of experienced IT and compliance practitioners
Represent Fingerprint's security posture to customers, prospects, partners, auditors, and leadership
Unify security, IT, and compliance under a coherent strategy
Drive AppSec work including triage, security reviews, and remediation support
Build secure SDLC, dependency and secrets hygiene, and CI-integrated scanning practices
Design and govern AI-assisted security tooling and validation processes
Own vendor security assessments
Define zero-trust principles and partner on network security, IAM, logging, and alerting
Lead application-layer security incident response
Manage the Compliance Lead and IT team
Make decisions about compliance frameworks, IT investment, and cross-functional priorities
Oversee access reviews, identity governance, device posture, offboarding, and compliance evidence
Communicate security posture, compliance status, and IT health to the VP of Engineering
Work with Engineering leadership to embed security practices across product teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years in security with substantial hands-on application security experience
Experience building or significantly maturing an AppSec program
Experience with security reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and penetration testing
Credibility discussing secure design, OWASP, and real-world exploitation with senior engineers
Ability to read code and understand modern web/API architectures
2+ years managing people
Daily use of AI agents and understanding of AI-driven security tooling and AI-generated code
Ability to learn IT and compliance domains quickly
Ability to translate security complexity into business language for leadership and customers
Nice to have: identity and access management, endpoint management, or remote workforce IT experience
Nice to have: SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR experience
Nice to have: familiarity with Snyk, Wiz, Cloudflare, and Okta
Nice to have: experience with AI-assisted code analysis, triage, auto-remediation, or autonomous testing
Nice to have: enterprise security questionnaire experience
Nice to have: experience in a high-growth SaaS company
Must be authorized to work from the candidate's home location; Fingerprint does not sponsor visas
