About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work end to end on the evolution of backend solutions, from understanding the problem through implementation, deployment, and production monitoring
- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications, APIs, and services using Node.js as the primary technology stack
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and integrations between internal and external systems
- Work with distributed architectures, microservices, service-to-service communication, and messaging
- Participate in defining and evolving solution architectures
- Apply Clean Code, Design Patterns, and software architecture principles
- Create and maintain unit and integration tests
- Implement resilience mechanisms such as Retry, Timeout, Circuit Breaker, and Fallback
- Investigate incidents, analyze logs, and diagnose issues in applications, integrations, and databases
- Identify root causes and propose permanent solutions
- Work with relational databases, including creating, reviewing, and analyzing SQL queries
- Support performance analysis and database troubleshooting
- Use Azure DevOps, including version control, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Assess solution impacts, risks, dependencies, effort, and complexity
- Monitor applications in production and contribute to incident resolution
- Collaborate with Development, Product, Quality, Infrastructure, Security, and other teams
- Share knowledge and contribute to the team’s technical growth
- Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement
- Interact, when necessary, with systems and services developed in Python or Java
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience or solid knowledge of backend development with Node.js
- Development and consumption of REST APIs
- JavaScript and/or TypeScript applied to backend development
- Systems integration
- Distributed architectures and microservices
- Messaging and asynchronous processing
- Relational databases and SQL
- Analysis and diagnosis of issues in applications and databases
- Unit and integration testing
- Git and version control
- Azure DevOps
- CI/CD pipelines
- Design Patterns, Clean Code, and software engineering best practices
- Failure handling and resilience patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Retry, Timeout, and Fallback
- Application and API security concepts
- Application troubleshooting and log analysis
- Production application monitoring and support
- Knowledge of or experience developing systems with Python or Java
- Knowledge of Resilience4j or equivalent frameworks for failure handling
- Experience with hexagonal architecture and event-driven architecture
- Experience with non-relational databases
- Knowledge of Escritural Receivables, registries, or regulated financial solutions
- Experience with highly critical or high-volume transactional applications
- Experience working at technology companies, fintechs, or financial institutions
- Knowledge of banking integrations, payment methods, or financial connectivity
- Experience with application observability and monitoring
- Experience modernizing applications or integrating with legacy systems
