About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct daily operations of teams including Exchange Officers, Exchange Assistants, and Sales Representatives facilitating 1031 tax-deferred exchange transactions
- Oversee branch operations, profitability, goals, and objectives
- Monitor and report profitability for assigned geographic areas
- Interpret financial data, adjust expenses, and achieve profitability
- Manage, coach, mentor, hire, and train branch exchange personnel
- Delegate assignments and provide development opportunities
- Manage workflow and resolve escalated issues
- Align branch goals with business unit goals and provide input to Senior Management
- Develop new and repeat business through brokers, real estate agents, escrow and settlement offices, attorneys, and tax advisors
- Maintain existing client base and ongoing client and business relationships
- Manage all aspects of 1031 exchange transactions with internal and external customers
- Answer questions and provide guidance regarding services, policies, and specific transactions
- Ensure compliance with operating practices, staff training, reports, audits, and operational efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-7 years of directly related 1031 exchange experience
- 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role
- Demonstrated success establishing, leading and maintaining effective working relationships
- Proficiency in 1031 exchange rules, including forward, reverse, and improvement exchanges
- Proficient in computer skills
- Ability to communicate company direction and set aligned goals
- Knowledge of competitor, financial and industry dynamics
- Ability to recruit, retain and develop talent and hold employees accountable for results
- Ability to lead change, manage conflict and foster collaboration
- Ability to drive customer loyalty, manage customer expectations, solicit customer feedback and ensure commitments are met
- Ability to provide reliable information and deliver informative and persuasive presentations
- Good listening and negotiation skills
- Ability to collaboratively create, identify, and implement business solutions
