About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle real estate escrow transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, managing funds, processing closing documents, and completing settlements
- Determine closing requirements from buyer, seller, and lender instructions
- Order title reports for title insurance and resolve title defects, liens, and encumbrances
- Establish escrow accounts, deposit funds, and maintain records
- Prepare, collect, and review transaction documents, forms, and statements
- Calculate prorated taxes and interest
- Review closing documents with parties, explain provisions and procedures, answer questions, verify accuracy, and obtain signatures
- Record and file closing documents and distribute final closing statements and title
- Prepare settlement statements using lender instructions
- Balance and disburse escrow funds and close escrow accounts
- Comply with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Maintain job knowledge through education, professional publications, networks, and organizations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years related experience
- Experience directly handling escrow transactions preferable
- Valid Licensing/Certification as required by applicable state
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Good client relations and organizational skills
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information
- Ability to deal with multiple types of roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, agents and brokers
