About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage foreclosure activities, emphasizing activities leading up to and including the First Legal Action
- Process mortgage accounts in compliance with state and federal laws and Investor, Insurer, Agency, and company guidelines
- Ensure First Legal Actions meet established deadlines; remove impediments and request extensions as needed
- Review foreclosure files for default timeframes and regulatory and statutory compliance
- Manage assigned foreclosure proceedings by interacting with mortgagors, attorneys, investors, insurers, trustees, appraisers, and other involved parties
- Monitor attorney performance, proceedings, records, timeframes, and system/database activities
- Follow up on outstanding requests and telephone calls from internal and external partners
- Audit accounts for expense compliance and proper application to the system of record
- Research questionable loan items, including payment applications
- Review and respond to audit and quality control requests
- Report litigated and class action matters to management
- Analyze assigned portfolios, including performance, timelines, characteristics, and status
- Manage exception reporting to minimize risk
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent or combination of education and experience
- 3 + years of directly related experience such as Mortgage Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, and/or Legal
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict guidelines and procedures
- GSE and Government experience preferred
- MSP and LoanSphere experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Microsoft Outlook preferred
- Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of foreclosure
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given parameters, routines, and accepted practices
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated; self-starter
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond quickly to emergent problems
