About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide high-level strategy and oversight for service delivery and organizational programming
- Ensure program and service delivery culture aligns with SPY’s mission
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, motivation, and support of program staff
- Coordinate, integrate, and oversee all programs, contracts, and related services
- Promote collaboration between program areas and ensure funder, partner, constituent, client, and stakeholder expectations are met
- Participate in strategic organizational growth and identify mission-aligned opportunities to increase impact
- Engage with the Board of Directors by facilitating committees, attending meetings, producing reports, and conducting presentations
- Participate in fund development and donor engagement
- Contribute to budget development and monitor program operations with the finance department
- Partner with grants and contracts staff on applications, reports, staff allocation, and grant maximization
- Ensure programs meet performance outcomes, contractual requirements, and KPIs
- Participate in Performance and Quality Improvement and ensure continuous program improvement
- Use data, research, and analysis to inform program design and effective service delivery
- Lead and develop staff while fostering a collaborative and innovative culture
- Embed safety measures in programs and manage potential risks
- Ensure effective crisis intervention, de-escalation, and mandated reporting
- Participate in speaking engagements, disseminate SPY’s work, and provide staff development training
- Develop annual short- and long-term departmental and programmatic goals aligned with the strategic plan and quality improvement process
- Represent SPY with community partners and funders and cultivate relationships with community leaders, institutions, elected officials, businesses, and organizations
- Create ongoing opportunities for staff, clients, and partners to provide feedback
- Perform other duties supporting the program and organization mission
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required
- Master’s degree in social work or marriage and family therapy is required
- Clinical licensure; active license in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences is required
- Two years post licensure, with the ability to supervise licensure hours
- 3–4 years of experience in a supervisory role
- 2–3 years of experience in the non-profit sector working with diverse groups
- Strong program and operational experience; experience overseeing residential services and programming at multiple locations preferred
- Experience with public speaking and providing training
- Experience with and knowledge of homeless services and youth services
- Understanding of homeless services and housing programs at a senior management level
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and complex funding sources
- Experience designing and delivering program services
- Understanding of various non-profit funding sources
- Experience supervising and managing large teams
- Strong leadership skills and ability to cultivate staff
- Organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning skills
- Ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
- Strategic and innovative thinking; entrepreneurial orientation toward impact and sustainability
- Integrity, credibility, and commitment to agency mission
