About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Learn and understand business processes associated with supported applications
  • Develop application interfaces, maintain reports, and support vendor package applications
  • Understand system interface design and data flows for complex inbound and outbound interfaces
  • Develop technical designs that meet business needs and support strategic direction
  • Select and leverage appropriate technology for defined requirements
  • Follow IT Change Management and Incident ticket processes
  • Work on cross-functional teams to accomplish IT projects and objectives
  • Manage and support mobile deployment of 2,500+ field worker computers and network connectivity solutions
  • Administer, support, and enhance GPS asset tracking and telemetry systems
  • Administer, support, and enhance fleet management systems
  • Support field worker remote work execution systems
  • Document processes, procedures, specifications, and completed products
  • Support requirements gathering and test scenario identification
  • Support unit, integration, performance, and stress testing
  • Create and execute unit test plans for enhancements, implementations, patches, and upgrades
  • Investigate and resolve production application problems
  • Collaborate with software vendors on issue resolution, software installation, and patching
  • Troubleshoot complex functionality and identify issues
  • Respond to second- and third-level support requests for Field Mobility technologies
  • Support operations during emergencies and storm-related activities, including travel to FirstEnergy locations
  • Provide flexible-hours, call-in, and after-hours support for 7x24 operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, a related degree, or commensurate experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years related experience
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL databases
  • Ability to develop SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, Packages, and Views
  • Integration experience utilizing APIs, REST web services, and other integration methods
  • Experience working on Windows Servers, Linux, and/or UNIX
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, certificate management, Power Platform (Apps, Automate, BI), PowerShell, profile management, or Windows OS
  • Mobile networking and monitoring experience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to learn new information technology concepts and adapt to changing technology
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available for call-in and after-hours support (7X24 operations)
  • Knowledge of the Work Management and Field Mobility suite of applications is a plus
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow
  • Familiarity with the electric utility industry
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and agile environments
  • Must reside within FE location and sit within 60 min of FE location
  • Unable to sponsor or transfer H-1B visas at this time
