About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop moderately complex to highly complex code using front-end and back-end programming languages across multiple platforms
  • Design, architect, and deliver complex program specifications for code development and support across multiple concurrent projects
  • Analyze, modify, and develop complex code, including unit and integration testing, and produce application documentation
  • Perform testing, validation, and code review for complex changes across distributed systems
  • Correct complex code deficiencies, propose alternative solutions, and drive resolution independently
  • Lead and participate in client-facing meetings, joint venture discussions, and vendor partnership teams to determine solution approaches and architectural direction
  • Support leadership in designing, developing, and enforcing business and infrastructure application standards, controls, procedures, and monitoring
  • Apply procedures, methodology, application standards, PCI security compliance, cloud security best practices, and data governance frameworks
  • Conduct and provide billable hours and resource estimates on initiatives, projects, and issues
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level software engineers
  • Lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and drive engineering best practices across teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems, or a related field, or 3 years of post-secondary study in any field plus one additional year of experience
  • 8+ years of progressive work experience in the job offered or a related position; alternatively, 9 years of work experience with the alternative education requirement
  • Experience coding, designing, developing, architecting, and analyzing data-intensive applications
  • Experience with front-end/back-end technologies including Java (JDK 17 through JDK 25), Python, JavaScript, Mainframe COBOL, or Mainframe Assembler
  • Experience with at least two modern programming languages/frameworks such as Python, React.js, Spring Boot framework, R, or Matlab
  • Spring Boot microservices development including RESTful service design, dependency injection, Spring Security, and Spring Data
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, Postman, relational and NoSQL databases, DDL and DML
  • Experience with Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, IMS, or DB2
  • AWS Cloud infrastructure development experience including AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, IAM, API Gateway, and CloudWatch
  • Apache Airflow experience for workflow orchestration, DAG development, scheduling, and data pipeline automation
  • Mainframe knowledge including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted code development
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models including GPT, Claude, Gemini, LLaMA, and related AI technologies
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Under alternative requirements: experience with Kafka and Streaming Architecture
  • Under alternative requirements: knowledge of AWS Sagemaker and Bedrock services
