About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and maintain database solutions supporting application, reporting, and operational requirements
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance to improve availability, stability, and efficiency
- Partner with engineering, infrastructure, application, and cross-functional teams on database architecture, data access, and integration processes
- Perform database audits, health checks, and capacity reviews
- Recommend upgrades, configuration changes, and process improvements
- Support database security, backup, recovery, patching, and disaster recovery activities
- Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and documentation for database administration, performance tuning, and operational support
- Evaluate emerging database technologies and administrative practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in database engineering, database administration, or database platform support in enterprise environments
- 3+ years of experience administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments
- 3+ years of experience administering and supporting Oracle Database environments
- 3+ years of experience performing database performance tuning, query optimization, and root cause analysis
- 3+ years of experience implementing database security controls, user access management, and data protection practices
- 3+ years of experience supporting data integration, extract transform load (ETL) processes, and data movement across systems
- 1+ years of Fiserv systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience
- Experience supporting PostgreSQL and MongoDB environments
- Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries
- Experience supporting high-availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
- Must be eligible to work in an available U.S. location; role is not eligible in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Maine, or Washington
