About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement programs and tools that facilitate confidential employee communication channels, in partnership with the Employee Relations Manager
- Assist in developing and implementing company-wide employee relations policies and procedures
- Resolve employee complaints and issues fairly and timely while protecting all parties' interests
- Conduct investigations into alleged violations and recommend remediation
- Maintain accurate and timely case files, documentation, follow-up, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary action records
- Provide guidance, coaching, and counseling to Human Resources and leaders on critical employee relations decisions
- Contribute to internal projects, training development, and continuous improvement projects across HR/ER
- Identify and recommend improvements to processes, procedures, policies, and technologies
- Determine employee relations case risk levels and routing according to escalation protocols
- Support monitoring, analysis, and review of case management processes and systems for business needs and compliance
- Establish reporting mechanisms for employee relations metrics, analyze trends, and recommend ways to enhance engagement and reduce turnover
- Identify ways to enhance processes and improve interpersonal and team functioning
- Stay current on state and federal employment laws and regulations
- Build relationships with HR, legal, and other relevant teams to align and collaborate on employee relations matters
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years progressive HR or related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
- Professional Certification in HR preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated proficiency in employee and/or labor relations strategy
- Thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including EEO laws and regulations
- Ability to be highly collaborative and influential
- Ability to share information while balancing transparency with confidentiality
- Ability to deliver feedback and difficult messages in an unbiased, direct, constructive and sincere manner
- Critical thinking skills to synthesize data, solve complex problems, form conclusions and make recommendations
- Ability to evaluate alternative approaches objectively and assess their impact on the individual and business
- Candidates must be located within the Central U.S.
