About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act with integrity and honesty

- Balance short-term needs with long-term goals and objectives
- Lead a regional team of district managers with a focus on engagement and performance
- Coach district managers through problem-solving and decision-making processes
- Generate a strong talent pipeline, hire quality candidates, prioritize training and development, mitigate human resources issues, and foster retention
- Identify opportunities for and approve promotions, while taking disciplinary action, including terminations, as needed
- Grow and develop district manager teams and build pipelines for future talent
- Equip and empower district managers to make strategic and tactical decisions that increase employee engagement and positively impact the bottom line
- Visit stores regularly to observe performance and work environment, providing feedback and recognition
- Communicate proactively with district managers and store managers to support implementation of directives, policies, and procedures
- Create buy-in from direct reports to adopt change while establishing clear expectations
- Apply business acumen and make data-driven decisions for positive regional outcomes
- Translate and communicate company vision to meet or exceed objectives
- Work cross-functionally with corporate leaders to advocate for resources, solve problems, improve processes, and enhance store performance
- Build relationships with corporate business partners including HR, finance, real estate, and construction
- Analyze business results and visit stores to drive district manager performance
- Leverage reports and metrics to drive sales, improve customer experience, and increase profitability
- Drive accountability and budget attainment by controlling expenses, protecting assets, driving sales, and maximizing profit margin
- Plan strategically for operational enablement of revenue growth
- Collaborate with and provide feedback to the regional support team
- Prioritize interactions with associates to support regional needs
- Encourage regional team members to experiment and pilot more effective ways of working
- Achieve results while adhering to company policies and applicable laws
- Create and sustain a sales culture that achieves regional performance results
- Ensure exceptional customer experiences through the Five Below service model
- Assess districts and coach leaders to drive consistent customer experience and incremental sales growth
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- 10+ years retail experience
- 5+ years multi-store management experience
- Experience in retail operations
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to plan strategically and utilize time effectively to accomplish business objectives
- Ability to exercise independent decision-making and work under little supervision
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate staff in different locations
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to successfully execute corporate business plans
- Proficiency in computer use and standard office applications
- Ability to travel 50% of the time
